Christchurch is the international gateway to the beautiful South Island. Or you may simply be keen on visiting one of our lovely vineyards to sample some of the local Canterbury wines and delicious array of food and produce.

Hamner Springs is a fantastic place to soak in the Hot Pools or take advantage of the mountain walks.

Akaroa is well worth a visit to swim with Dolphins, do a nature cruise or just take in the history of this picturesque French Village.

Just three hours away is Kaikoura, a fantastic place to go on a whale-watching cruise or to see the seals.

The Tranz Alpine Express is a world-renowned train journey, taking you to the West Coast town of Greymouth through some of the most spectacular scenery you are ever likely to encounter.

For those who like to ski or just hang out in the snow, Christchurch is an ideal place to have your base as the ski fields of Mount Hutt and Porters Heights are only an hour away.
